About UsMission : Our mission is to use our time, talents, and treasures with love and compassion to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Vision: Our vision is to promote spiritual growth in our members and reach out to our community in Christian love and service so that they too can come to know Christ. Purpose: Our purpose is to be a committed congregation to the teachings and life of Christ and to take that lifestyle outside the church walls to those who know little or nothing of the good news of Christ. |

Our History |
United Methodists are the second largest Protestant denomination in America. The first Methodist service held in Harvard was in August of 1871. In July of 1872, 11 men started having class meetings in a railroad coach. The first church building owned by Harvard Methodists was the "Union Church" building which was located on the site of the present building. In 1923 the church was turned a quarter turn and the present building was built over the top of it. The roof and the shingles of the former church still remain between the ceiling and roof of the present one. In 1999, the education wing was added to the building for use as Sunday School classrooms and other educational opportunities of the church. This addition also included an elevator to cater to the elderly and handicapped persons.
Methodists have a passionate faith with strong convictions, but we also recognize that the world is not always black and white. We are willing to ask questions, to wrestle with difficult issues, and to do so with grace and compassion. Methodists have been known for our emphasis on a personal faith, lived out in concrete ways in the world. We have historically valued well-informed and passionate preaching, worship that was lively, and small groups where people could grow in faith. Methodists have open hearts, and open minds--and welcome anyone interested in learning more about the Christian faith. |
